We want to make sure we work with women who are ready to embark on the rewarding journey of surrogacy. To become a surrogate, you must:
- Be between the age of 23-37 years old
- Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 19-29
- Be a non-smoker for at least 2 years and living in a non-smoking home
- Have a clean criminal background (surrogate and spouse or partner)
- Undergo psychological screening (surrogate and spouse or partner)
- Have a supportive spouse or partner, friend, or family member
- Agree to a home study with all the residents and pets
- Be a US citizen or a legal permanent resident
- Live in a surrogacy-legal state
Medical Surrogate Qualifications
To qualify as a gestational surrogate, you must meet these medical requirements as well. Every surrogate must:
- have given birth to at least one child of their own
- be able to obtain OB/GYN records and doctor’s clearance letter
- have had no more than 4 deliveries and 2 c-sections (Minimum Gestation: Singleton - 37 weeks / Multiples - 33 weeks)
